Interpretive Data:
Jo-1 antibodies are a marker for polymyositis and occur most
commonly in myositis patients with interstitial lung disease. Jo-1
antibodies occur in 50% or more of patient with interstitial
pulmonary fibrosis and symmetrical polyarthritis. A negative result
for Jo-1 antibodies does not rule out polymyositis.

Sample Processing:
Centrifuge at a speed and time necessary to get barrier separation
of plasma/serum and cells within 1 hour of collection. Send specimen
in original tube. Do Not transfer to another tube.

Refrigerate.
