Daily - Batch analysis performed daily excluding weekends and university holidays.

Reference Range:

<1:80 for screen and titer

Comments:

If the screen is positive at 1:80, ANA titer will be performed. ANA screen will detect centromere and most other specificities, but may not detect Anti-SS-A-(Ro) Antibody.

Methodology:

Indirect Immunofluorescence on Hep 2 cells

Sample Processing:

Centrifuge at 3500 RPM for 5 minutes.
Transfer serum into new labeled container and cap.

Sample Storage:

Refrigerate serum 2-8°C.

Transport Instructions:

Place specimen into zip-lock type bag, seal bag.
Place requisition into outside pocket of bag.
Ship at room temperature.
