Instructions:
Collect in second trimester between 15 weeks - 20 weeks 6 days. Dating
by LMP or ultrasound (preferred).
Patient weight (kg), race, last menstrual period date, number of fetuses, ultrasound date, crown rump length (CRL) in mm and biparietal distance (BPD) in mm at time of ultrasound required. Also note if the patient is taking insulin for diabetes and whether the patient or her partner had a neural tube defect (NTD) or if either has had a previous pregnancy with a NTD. If IVF pregnancy, the age of the egg donor is required.
Refrigerate specimen if not transported within 24 hours of collection to reference laboratory.

Rejection Criteria:
Plasma or specimen older than 9 days. Sample not collected within the
required gestational age range.

By report - AFP, hCG, Estriol, and Inhibin A calculated Multiples of
the Median (MoMs) based on gestational age.
Comments:
