A fungal smear (KOH/Calcofluor) is automatically performed with each culture request. Cultures held for 4-6 weeks. A. Blood - Cleanse skin with ChloraPrep® one-step 1.5 mL Frepp® Applicator (907672). Collect 8-10 mL of blood for adult (1.5 mL for child) and inoculate into an Isolator tube (Adult=922848; Pediatric=923003). Collect in addition to bacterial blood culture bottles.
