Adult  preferred minimum:  1 mL serum or plasma

Rejection Criteria:
Heparinized plasma or I.V. fluid; specimens collected in potassium 
oxalate/sodium fluoride tubes; hemolyzed specimens
Analytic Time:
4 working days
Reference Range:
Fasting insulin = 3-19 uIU/mL
Interpretive Data:
To convert to pmol/L, multiply uIU/mL by 6.0. The reference interval 
for a fasting insulin is 3-19 uIU/mL.

This assay reacts on a nearly equimolar basis with insulin aspart, 
insulin glargine, and insulin lispro.
Comments:
Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature.  Separate serum or 
plasma from cells ASAP.
