Laura has worked as a research coordinator within the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center for 5 years facilitating the interaction between clinical research protocols (both therapeutic and nontherapeutic) and laboratory investigations conducted within the HCCC. Her primary responsibility is to work on projects associated with the SPORE grant which is a collaboration between investigators at Mayo Clinic and the University of Iowa. Working in translational research, Laura also helps to coordinate the consenting of patients and collection of biospecimens from the clinic and providing the samples to investigators at the University of Iowa, including Dr. Weiner's lab.
Away from work, Laura is busy keeping up with her two boys, ages 1 1/2 and 4.
