Adults: 3 mL whole blood. Testing requires a dedicated collection
tube.
Testing Schedule:
Weekly
Turn Around Time:
7-10 working days

Mutation not detected
Comments:
MPL exon 10 coding sequence is amplified by polymerase chain
reaction (PCR) and sequenced in both directions using next
generation sequencing. The reference sequence with which this
patient's DNA sequence is compared is NM_005373.1. The test will
detect codon 505 and 515 mutations.
Methodology:
Massively parallel next generation sequencing on DNA
Sample Processing:
Label transport tube with two patient identifiers, date and time of
collection.
Submit whole blood in original container. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE.
Relevant clinical information must be submitted with specimen in order to provide correct interpretation of test results.
