Minimum:
5 mL blood in a pink top or yellow top, 1 mL bone marrow aspirate in a pink top or yellow top, 3 cu mm of fresh frozen tissue or Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue, body fluids in a pink top or yellow top or lymph node aspirates in RPMI.

Comments:
DNA extracted from blood, bone marrow mononuclear cells or tissue is examined for rearrangement of immunoglobin heavy chain genes.
Test Limitations:
Specimens fixed in B5 fixative are unsuitable for testing.
Methodology:
Multiplex PCR followed by Fluorescence Capillary Electrophoresis
Sample Processing:
Label transport tube with two patient identifiers, date and time of collection.
Relevant clinical information must be submitted with specimen in order to provide correct interpretation of test results.
Specimen source is required on requisition for processing.
Tissue specimen should be frozen.
Sample Storage:
Refrigerate blood specimens overnight if shipping cannot occur the same day of collection. Do not freeze specimens.
Tissue Specimen - Freeze immediately and store frozen or send Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded blocks.
Transport Instructions:
Ship refrigerated.
Frozen Tissue - Ship frozen on dry ice. Ship express mail with overnight delivery. Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded blocks ship at room temperature.
