RALS Point of Care Devices Interface Down Time Monday October 14 and Tuesday October 15, 2024

The servers for all Point of Care Devices listed below will be down eight to ten hours for a major upgrade from Monday, October 14th at 2130 until Tuesday, October 15th at approximately 0530 – 0730. This will impact Orders/Results interfaced from/to Epic for the following instruments at Medical Center University (MCU), Medical Center Downtown (MCD) and offsite clinics:

• Nova StatStrip - Blood Glucose
• Abbott i-STAT1 – Various including electrolytes, lactate, and blood gases using this device
• Abbott IDNow – Covid, Influenza, Group A Streptococcus, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
• Siemens Clinitek Status+ Connect – Urinalysis
• Roche CoaguChek XS Plus – Prothrombin time/INR (PT/INR)
• Alere Afinion AS100 and Afinion 2 – Hemoglobin A1c

Once the upgrade is complete, results from these devices will upload to Epic if they have not been manually entered. Staff will need to use the appropriate written downtime procedures as needed for result communication. Please contact Cassie Hartgrave (319-384-9610) with questions.
