Current inventory of the 4.5 mL PST (green top; PS#907695) blood tubes have returned to adequate levels to return this tube to normal usage beginning January 6. If you have been using a substitute for this tube, either the 3 mL PST green top tube or SST gold top tube, you can return to the 4.5 mL tubes for appropriate labs.  

In addition, the 6 mL pink EDTA blood tube (PS#907692) will also be returned to normal usage, including blood bank testing. If you have been using the lavender top tubes as a substitute, you can return to the pink top tube where appropriate.

While awaiting your unit/clinic’s inventory to be updated with former tubes, you may continue to use the substitute products you have been using in the interim.
