Delays in Core Laboratory Testing, Tuesday, August 9th, 2022

Starting at 0700, Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, instrumentation in the core clinical laboratory will be undergoing replacement. The process will take 36-48 hours. This may delay the resulting of the following assays in that time window:

Acetaminophen drug level [LAB43]
B-Hydroxybutyrate [LAB570]
Gentamicin drug level [LAB28]
Hemoglobin A1C [LAB90]
Iron panel [LAB94]
LDL cholesterol measured [LAB102]
Lithium drug level [LAB29]
Methotrexate drug level [LAB481]
Microalbumin, random [LAB646] or timed [LAB647]
Prealbumin [LAB115]
Salicylate drug level [LAB34]
Urine pH [LAB875]
Vancomycin drug level [LAB41]

These assays will still run on a backup instrument but will be unavailable periodically when that instrument undergoes daily maintenance.

Questions should be directed to Matthew Krasowski, MD, PhD, medical director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory (384-9380, matthew-krasowski@uiowa.edu).
