Clinical Chemistry Assays Moving to Mailouts, Tuesday, August 9th, 2022

Starting today, Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, three assays will be mailed out to ARUP Laboratories due to supply chain issues. This impacts two of the main celiac disease tests (deamidated gliadin and tissue transglutaminase IgA) and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE).

For gliadin (deamidated) IgA antibody (LAB8011) and tissue transglutaminase IgA (LAB8013), the existing order codes in Epic will be retained. Orders will then be switched in the laboratory to the new mailout codes. It is anticipated that the deamidated gliadin and tissue transglutaminase IgA assays will be available again in-house within two months.

Angiotensin converting enzyme currently has no projected date of return so an entirely new mailout test code has been developed for ordering:

Angiotensin converting enzyme, serum [LAB9237]

All of the assays above use red top (serum) as specimen type, with 1.5 mL or more whole blood preferred.
