The Blood Bank will be upgrading their laboratory software on Saturday, May 14, 2022. To facilitate this upgrade, the Blood Bank laboratory information system will be down for approximately 12 hours, starting around 2:00 AM. During this time, testing in the blood bank, along with blood product administration in the patient care area will need to be performed using downtime procedures.

Blood Bank sample collection and blood product ordering will not be impacted, however; Please try to limit the orders for blood products and testing to urgent blood needs during this timeframe. If urgent test results are needed for specimens submitted to the Blood Bank during this time frame, please call the Blood Bank at 6-2561.

In addition, the blood kiosks will be unavailable after 7:00 PM on Friday, May 13th through Saturday, May 14th. A back-up plan has been distributed for the emergency kiosks.
