Effective Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, fibrin degradation products (FDP) testing [LAB1067] will be discontinued due to nationwide unavailability of the specialized blood collection tubes required for testing. The recommended alternative is D-Dimer [LAB602], which is the preferred test for evaluation of coagulopathies, such as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
