Projected Delays in Mailout Testing Due to Weather Impact and Holidays on Express Shipping, Tuesday, December 20th, 2022

Due to projected impact of severe weather on Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23 from Winter Storm Elliott on the Midwest, southern, and eastern United States (including major FedEx shipping hubs such as Indianapolis and Memphis), it is likely that shipping of mailout specimens may be impacted.

In addition, Monday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 27 are holidays with no mailout service. If shipping is not possible, pathology mailout staff will stabilize samples and ship when conditions improve for express courier.

We would recommend postponing any laboratory testing with collection instructions that specify Monday-Thursday only collections until Wednesday, December 28.
