SHL Specimens will now be processed by the Department of Pathology Mailouts before being sent to SHL. Clinical areas will begin using the paperless labs collection process for all SHL specimens and should send SHL specimens to Pathology, as they do for all other mailout labs. Billing for SHL tests will become automated with this change. To support this change "SHL" will be removed from the name of the test. Staff members can continue to search on SHL and the correct tests will present.

The only exception is Student Health and Wellness, which will send specimens directly to SHL.

Please note that the paper copy of the order along with a label will continue to print for all maternal screen orders. The paper copy is needed to support the hand entered information documented by the sonographer.
