The Cerner Laboratory Information System will be unavailable Tuesday, May 20, 2014 starting at 8:00 PM for approximately four hours for a major system upgrade.

Staff members will be affected in the following manner:

• All Epic functionality will continue as normal.
• Laboratory results completed before 8:00 p.m. will be available on your Epic workstation.
• Laboratory results completed after 8:00 p.m. will be communicated either by phone or by hard copy.
• Paperless Units need to use non-paperless workflow for the duration of the downtime.  Send laboratory requisition and labeled container(s) to the appropriate laboratory. 

Nursing will provide information to end users in the form of a broadcast on lab communication during the scheduled downtime.  Additional information is located on the Downtime website. Downtime website

The Emergency Notification System will inform users when downtime begins and ends.
