New Urine Charcoal Analysis Test Now Available

Urine Charcoal Analysis is now an orderable test in Epic (order code LAB7881). This test is done to evaluate the presence of charcoal in the urine after ingestion by the patient, as part of the diagnostic workup of possible vesicointestinal fistulae.  The minimum volume needed is 5 mL which should be collected in a conical tube. The test is performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a 4 hour turn-around-time.
