Changes in Display of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea PCR Results

Effective today, December 18, 2012, the results for the Chlamydia trachomatis/Neisseria gonorrhoeae PCR test were formerly combined into one report which could cause confusion about which of the two tests was positive when a single "POS" result was displayed in Epic.

To generate separate Epic results for the Chlamydia and Gonorrhea PCR tests we have implemented a single order for both tests, which presents the ordering clinician with two checkboxes that are checked by default but can be unchecked to order one test or the other.  Clinicians should order "C TRACH & N GONORRHOEAE PCR" (order panel #O56115) for inpatient orders and "C TRACH & N GONORRHOEAE PCR AV (order panel #O56116)" for "after visit" orders.
