Effective Tuesday April 3, 2012, revisions to Epic Result Components will go live.  In Results Review, Result Components are limited to 15 characters and thus are truncated if longer than this character limit.  We are shortening the names of 1,715 Result Components to allow for easier readability in Results Review.  As an example:

Old Result Component:  "Hepatitis B Surface Antigen" [truncates to "Hepatitis B Surfac"]
New Results Component:  "Hep B Surf Antigen" [no truncation]

It is hoped these changes will facilitate easier and clearer viewing of lab results in Epic.
