Delay in Infectious Disease Serology Testing for Week of May 10, 2010

Infectious disease serology testing for CMV (IgG and IgM), Helicobacter pylori (IgG), Lyme disease (IgG and IgM total antibodies), and varicella-zoster (IgG) is moving from the Microbiology laboratory to the Clinical Chemistry (core) laboratory the week of May 10. During the transition, there will be delays in resulting likely until May 13 or 14. The frequency of testing for these five assays will not change:

(1) "CYTOMEGALOVIRUS (CMV) ANTIBODY, IGG" [LAB937]
      Performed Monday/Wednesday/Friday

(2) "CYTOMEGALOVIRUS (CMV) ANTIBODY, IGM" [LAB938]
      Performed Monday/Wednesday/Friday

(3) "HELICOBACTER PYLORI ANTIBODY, IGG" [LAB158]
      Performed daily Monday-Friday except holidays

(4) "LYME DISEASE ANTIBODY, IGG/IGM" [LAB2358]
      Performed Tuesday and Friday
Positive and equivocal results are automatically referred to reference laboratory (ARUP Laboratories)
        for confirmatory Western blot testing

(5) "VARICELLA ZOSTER (VZV) ANTIBODY, IGG" [LAB2437]
      Performed Monday and Thursday
