Primidone and Quinidine Levels to Become Mailout Tests
In order to conserve resources during these difficult financial times, certain low volume drug levels will no longer be performed in the Pathology laboratories but will be sent to a reference laboratory. Beginning 9/15/2009, primidone and quinidine levels will be performed at a reference lab. This may result in longer turnaround times for these levels.
On September 15, 2009, the specimen requirements will change to:
Quinidine:
- Adult: 2 mLs whole blood in red top tube
- Peds: 1 mLs whole blood in red top tube
Primidone:
- Adult: 2 mLs whole blood in red top tube
- Peds: 1.6 mLs whole blood in red top tube
