Effective Sunday, March 22, 2009, the Decedent Care Center’s new operating hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays, and closed on Sundays. Autopsies will not be performed on Sundays. When the center is closed, the death call process will be conducted by a decedent care specialist from a remote location. Receipt of decedents from the floor location will continue 24 hours a day and will be coordinated by Nursing Services and Patient Care and Safety & Security. Tissue recovery and organ donations will also continue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For questions, please contact the Decedent Care Center at 7-7000.
