On Monday, June 29, 2009, the VIDAS instrument which analyzes the Clostridium difficile Assay, which detects toxins A and B produced by Clostridium difficile malfunctioned. It is our expectation that the instrument will be fully functional by 12:00 July1, 2009.

The turn around time for resulting this test is 24 hours from arrival in the microbiology lab. This bulletin is to inform you that results may be delayed longer than 24 hours.
