Effectively immediately, the Molecular Pathology Laboratory will institute a new Hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotyping assay due to manufacturer production issues with the current assay. The new assay detects genotypes 1 through 6, but does not provide subtype information. The assay has been validated internally by the Molecular Pathology Laboratory.
