Beginning on June 2, 2008, there will be slight changes in the reporting of body fluid cell counts. White blood cells will be reported as total nucleated cells, which more accurately reflects the cells that are counted.

In addition, in the differential counts of miscellaneous body fluids (pleural, peritoneal, pericardial fluids, etc.) macrophages, histocytes, monocyte and mesothelial cells will be counted together as mononuclear cells. The remainder of the differential will remain the same as in the past.
