Modification to e-Order Microbiology Content in IPR

Effective Monday, March 26, the Microbiology content which supports e-Orders in IPR will be modified in order to provide a more clear association with the Microbiology test name. As an example, currently there are 56 different individual test names for an acid-fast bacilli culture based on specimen type. When the changes are completed, there will be only one test called "Acid-fast bacilli (AFB) culture". The clinician will then select from a list of appropriate specimen type and descriptions for that type. HCIS and the Department of Pathology are working collaboratively to streamline the content in each department/division/service folders.

If there are any questions regarding this change, please do not hesitate to contact: Dr. Sandra Richter (6-2990), Dr. John Kemp, (4-9610), or the Clinical Applications Support Team (4-7007).
