Beginning Monday, July 24, 2006, the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory will institute a new generation of Prolactin assay which is less susceptible to interference by macroprolactin. All elevated samples will still be tested for the presence of macroprolactin. The new assay necessitates a change in reference ranges.
