Minimum Draw Requirements for Hematology Tests

This bulletin is intended to remind all health care providers who draw lavender tubes for Hematology tests of the minimum draw requirements. The Pathology Laboratory Services Handbook on the web, states that a full draw is necessary. This means that any lavender tube sent to Hematology should be half full or the specimen will not be satisfactory and will be rejected as a QNS sample. Questions or concerns should be directed to the Core Hematology Laboratory, 356-3530.
