The Department regrets to announce a severe shortage in personnel in the Section of Anatomic Pathology. This shortage accounts for approximately 20% of the total staffing and we are actively endeavoring to fill the open staff positions as soon as possible. Moreover, once the positions have been filled, the goal is to expand weekend services and coverage to better serve UIHC patients and physicians.

Due to this shortage, and effective immediately, the Department of Pathology, will significantly curtail weekend tissue processing. Weekend tissue processing will now be made available only on a case by case basis after discussion with the attending pathologist on-call for the weekend.
