New Endocrine Assays (ACTH, HGH, PTH, DHEA-S, Thyroglobulin Antibody- TgAb)

Beginning Monday, February 19, 2001, the Clinical Chemistry laboratory of the Department of Pathology will begin using a new immunoassay analyzer (Nichols Advantage). New reference ranges will be implemented for the following analytes:

Due to pulsatile secretion, a single measurement may be misinterpreted. For a provocative tests, a cutoff of 7 ng/mL is suggested.

TgAb <2.0 IU/mL <2.0 IU/mL

Reference ranges for Intact PTH and thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb) do not change.

Sample requirements do not change and the assays will be run on Tuesday and Thursday with an 8 a.m. sample cut off. Questions can be directed to Ronald Feld at 6-1759.
