The Hemostasis Laboratory is changing the D-dimer test as of April 3, 2000. This new test is more sensitive and may be used in some clinical settings, to exclude pulmonary embolism or deep venous thrombosis. Internal Medicine or Pediatric Hematology approval is required before this test will be performed.
