Thoroughly mix entire collection. Immediately after collection, transfer a maximum of 4 mL urine to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube prefilled with Sodium Carbonate (ARUP)supply #48096). (Min: 0.5 mL)

Urine (Random)-BD Vacutainer®, no additive yellow top
Minimum:
Random urine. Refrigerate during collection.

Thoroughly mix entire collection, immediately after collection, transfer a maximum of 4 mL urine to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube prefilled with Sodium Carbonate (Min: 0.5 mL). Store and send frozen.

Interpretive Data:
Patients with urine myoglobin greater than 15 mg/L are at risk of acute renal failure. Usual results are less than 1 mg/L. Results between 1 and 15 mg/L are associated with vigorous exercise, myocardial infarct, mild muscle injury, and other conditions.
