2 mL whole blood from a EDTA tube
Turn Around Time:
1-2 days (Monday through Friday). Testing is performed at Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.
Comments:
This test determines the patient's RhD genotype. It is useful for patients with serologic weak RhD typing or with discrepant RhD typing. The genotype can be used to determine whether Rh Immune Globulin (RhoGAM) is indicated or whether Rh Positive blood transfusions are acceptable (reviewed in Transfusion Vol 55 Pg 680, 2015).
