Record date and time of collection on requisition. Submit entire urine collection.

Collection Medium:

Urine - 24 hour/timed plastic urine container

Minimum:

24 hr urine with no preservative

Testing Schedule:

24 hrs/day, 7 days a week, including holidays.

Turn Around Time:

3 hours (upon receipt in laboratory)

Reference Range:

Microalbumin/creatine ratio:  0-25 mcg/mg (males)
                              0-17 mcg/mg (females)

Microalbumin mg/24Hrs:        2.0-30 mg/24 Hrs
Microalbumin mcg/minute:      0-19.9 mcg/min

Comments:

If collection is less than 24 hrs, "Microalbumin, mg/day" is not calculated.

This test is also performed in the Iowa River Landing (IRL) clinical laboratory (for specimens drawn at that site).
