Progesterone Receptor (PR) expression in breast carcinomas, similar to estrogen receptor positivity, has been associated with tumor responsiveness to hormonal therapy. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tumor sections has proven to be a sensitive means of defining positivity. Staining in ≥1% of tumor nuclei is interpreted as positive.
