Specimen Instructions:

Centrifuge refrigerated and separate upper two-thirds of plasma within 20 minutes. Collect in a pre-chilled tube and on ice.

Collection Medium:

Lavender top tube 3 mL (EDTA)

Minimum:

Collect in pre-chilled tube and deliver on ice to lab.
Preferred Minimum: 1 mL plasma from lavender top (EDTA) tube
Absolute Minimum: 0.5 mL plasma from lavender top (EDTA) tube

Rejection Criteria:

Lipemic or hemolyzed specimens.

Delivery Instructions:

Mix well and place on wet ice. Keep on ice and deliver to laboratory within 15 minutes of collection. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Turn Around Time:

1-6 days upon receipt at reference laboratory.
