Information Technology Services (ITS) - Collaboration

 

 

NOTE: All UI Health Care computers have Microsoft Skype for Business 2015 full software installed (extra features are available e.g. recording the presentation) but we prefer the Skype's Web version (because we use the train login to the computers) which ONLY requires a plugin ANYONE can [RUN]. Also ONLY use Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 or the Microsoft Edge Web browser. You should not need to install but if the computer has been updated etc. recently you might get prompted to install the plugin.

 

 

Skype Login when in the NCEC
use train login and Skype Web App

If prompted:
You might see the install app plugin if it is the 1st time (HCIS updates etc.) then click yes and RUN the plugin

 

Click [ Yes ]

 

If you see this click [ Cancel ] --- old method which I am checking why this still comes up on some computers

 

If prompted select:
Sign in if you are from the organizer's company

 

User name
Enter your HealthcareID (HawkID) after the healthcare domain.

Password
Enter your HealthcareID password

Click [ Join ]

 

If you are the PRESENTER:
click [ Present Desktop ] now called [ Share Screen ]

 

 

 

 


Skype No Audio

 

#1 - Skype requires a microphone or webcam to be plugged in for the audio to come through your comptuer. e.g.Microphone

 

#2 If #1 is confirmed check that your speakers are not muted on your Windows taskbar. e.g. Speakers

 

#3 If #1 and #2 are confirmed make sure you are using external speakers and check the on/off and the volume is turned up.

 

 

#4 If the above does not work then use your Telephone instead. Go to Outlook, Calendar and located the meeting and look for Join by phone (319) 467-8440 with the assocated Conference ID: 1234567.

 

 

#5 If none of the above seem to work please contact:

Let them know it is a PRIORITY 1 (P1) request; request they please send someone from the AV Team to the room (e.g. W417 GH). They typically are there in under 5 minutes.
