VII-53 (4) Slide 57, Stomach-Pylorus & Duodenum (H&E). In the duodenum region, Brunner's (duodenal) glands are present in submucosa. The epithelium has finger like projections (villi), and is lined by simple columnar cells. Muscularis mucosa is identifiable below Brunner's glands. Crypts of Lieberkühn are seen between the foot of villi and muscularis mucosa.
