IX-28F Detail of previous slide. Note the sphincter muscle of iris (arrow). The anterior surface of the iris consists of discontinuous layer of fibroblasts and pigmented cells. Between this layer and the pigmented epithelium (posterior surface) are fibroblasts, melanocytes and connective tissue.
