In Epic, this is orderable as an order panel (263313) that orders
both plasma creatinine (LAB66) and a 24 hr urine creatinine. The
plasma creatinine must be collected at some time during the 24 hr
urine collection for the creatinine clearance to be calculated.
Not corrected for body surface area. Collection other than 24 hr will not be calculated for G/24 hr. mg/dL and clearance will be calculated on any accurately timed urine. Call lab for nomogram for body surface determination.

Instructions:
Draw blood during 24 hour urine collection. Record date and time of
collection on requisition. Submit entire urine collection.
Sample Processing:
Submit urine in leak-proof plastic container.
Label the container with two Full patient identifiers, start date/time, and stop date/time of collection.
Centrifuge at a speed and time necessary to get barrier separation of plasma/serum and cells within 1 hour of collection. Send specimen in original tube. Do Not transfer to another tube.
