Specimen Instructions:

Collect in: CSF in 5 tube Neurochemistry Collection Kit. Total volume of CSF is 4.5 mL.

Call Specimen Control at 356-3527 or Commercial Mailouts at 356-8593 for collection kits.

CSF should be collected directly from the tap needle: Collect from the first drop into the containers in the order indicated. Fill each tube to the marked line (0.5 milliliters in tube #1 and 1.0 milliliter in tube 2, 3, 4 & 5).

Attach patient identifier to collection kit bag. Place on ice and deliver to laboratory immediately.

Minimum:

4.5 mL CSF in the 5 tube Neurochemistry collection kit

Delivery Instructions:

Keep on ice and deliver to laboratory immediately.
