Interpretive Data:
Jo-1 antibodies are a marker for polymyositis and occur most commonly
in myositis patients with interstitial lung disease. Jo-1 antibodies
occur in 50% or more of patient with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis
and symmetrical polyarthritis. A negative result for Jo-1 antibodies
does not rule out polymyositis.
