$3 Million Grant Awarded to UI Imaging Team to Improve Decision-Making for Cancer Patients
A multidisciplinary team of researchers from The University of Iowa received a 5-year grant from the National Cancer Institute to study how the use of imaging techniques, such as PET and CT, can be used to track the progress of cancer treatments and create standardized, objective computer models and methods to monitor tumor response to assist in more effective clinical decision-making. It will also be used to create a database for quanitative imaging that will be accessible to all. Tools and information developed by the study will be made available to the National Biomedical Imaging Archive and Cancer Bio-Informatics Grid.
