VPMA Voice

Many of you learned last week that Jana Wessels, MBA, JD, graciously accepted the offer to serve as UI Health Care's associate vice president for human resources. I am delighted that she has agreed to take on the permanent role, after serving so capably in an interim capacity for the past 10 months.

Jana will lead the integration of the human resource functions for all components of UI Health Care, including the Carver College of Medicine and UI Hospitals and Clinics. I am confident that Jana's 20-plus years of experience at the University and extensive background in human resources makes her well-suited to help us harness the strength of our talented workforce to achieve our true potential as a world class health care organization engaged in the missions of patient care, scientific discovery, and educational and professional development. Jana's proven leadership is an invaluable asset for our organization. Her hard work and dedication to UI Health Care will help ensure the achievement of our strategic and operational priorities.

I am excited to work with Jana as UI Health Care continues to develop a culture that embraces our I CARE values and supports our vision for World Class People. World Class Medicine. Please join me in congratulating Jana and wishing her well in her new post!
