As Point of Care/Risk Management Coordinator, Chris' primary duty is the regulatory oversight of all laboratory testing performed outside the physical confines of Department of Pathology laboratories. This includes a wide variety of laboratory testing performed by non-Pathology personnel in 12 special function labs which includes the 55 separate nursing units. Chris verifies that these testing sites comply with all applicable regulatory standards and ensures the laboratory results produced in these areas are of equal quality to the results produced in Pathology’s clinical labs.
Additionally, Chris serves as the Department of Pathology's Safety Officer, ensuring that the Department is in full compliance with all state and federal health and safety regulations.
