The Clinical Pathology Quality Assurance Coordinator responsibilities are to ensure that the quality management systems are fully deployed and integrated into the operations of the sections of the Pathology Core Laboratories. The quality management systems include document control, event management, change control, training, competency assessment, auditing, process improvement, and process control. As a result of a fully integrated quality management system compliance is maintained with the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and the Joint Commission (JC). Serving as a liaison to the Clinical Pathology laboratories, Tim collaborates with section staff and management developing quality and patient safety monitors, initiating and assisting in process improvement projects, and promoting innovation and creativity to continue making our laboratories cutting edge and world class. In addition, Tim integrates the universal quality management systems across and beyond the laboratories sub-specialties to processes that affect and are affected by other clinical disciplines in the patient’s continuum of care.
