Through the years I have been very interested in teaching residents and fellows diagnostic surgical pathology, particularly in my areas of interest, namely gastrointestinal and liver pathology. As part of this endeavor, I have been involved in a number of projects in which correlation of clinical and pathological observations have been made adding something new to the diagnostic armamentarium. I have been involved in writing a number of papers of this type with our residents and fellows. I intend to do so as much as time and energy allow in the changing atmosphere of the future health care environment. I will do whatever is appropriate in this changing environment to best serve the interests of residents and fellows. Areas of particular interest include the following: gastrointestinal motility disorders, neuroendocrine aspects of the stomach, Barrett's esophagus, celiac disease, hepatitis C, and hemachromatosis. There are multiple opportunities available for a strongly motivated individual to study various aspects of one of these areas.
