Dr. Knudson's research interest revolves around the regulation of apoptosis by the Bc1-2 Family and to understand their role in oncogenesis. One primary focus of the lab is to understand the role of apoptotic pathways in cancer and the crosstalk between regulators of apoptosis with the recently charaterized autophagy pathways. Finally the lab is interested in how these pathways contribute to levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and to help define what role ROS plays in oncogenesis.
