The MT and MLT perform a variety of laboratory procedures and difficult technical procedures associated with a high volume tertiary health care center laboratory. Many of these procedures involve numerous steps and techniques that require the use of professional judgment and problem-solving skills. The MT and MLT also perform maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and quality control procedures. Teaching and training are essential to our academic mission.
The University of Iowa Health Care offers competitive salaries based on education and experience. We also offer an excellent benefits package including an annual vacation accrual at the rate of 15-24 days per year along with an annual sick leave benefit accrual at a rate of 144 hours or 18 days per year with an unlimited amount of sick leave credits that can be accumulated.
